I am very much aware of my lips
As over them red wine I do sip.
My lips are painted ruby red,
The same color as the wine tis said.
It wasn't my intension to make them match,
But to raise awareness of plans to hatch.
In nineteen hundred and forty one,
Women wore red lipstick just for fun.
But Hitler hated red lips on women,
And so, he declared that it be forbidden.
But women wore it anyway,
They felt it was their duty to disobey.
It was their sign of resistance you see,
They laughed and smiled and wore it with glee.
And so in this time of political unrest,
I'll raise the resistance and do My best.
